Holiday Russian Tea Cakes

These Snowball Walnut Cookies is one of our family favorites. I’ve started my own Family Christmas Tradition that includes these delightful treats. It’s essential to bake during the Christmas Season. Weather you call them Russian Tea Cakes, Mexican Wedding Cakes or Winter Snowballs, there’s no denying that these tasty treats will be a BLISSFUL moment, just like a classic finish for them is a roll through powdered sugar-just like a dash through Winter Wonderland!


1 Cup Butter or Soft Margarine

1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar

1 Teaspoon Vanilla


1/4 Salt

3/4 Cup Fined Chopped Nuts


Steps to Bake

STEP 1: Preheat Oven to 400F.

STEP 2: Mix Butter, 1/2 Powdered Sugar, and 1 Teaspoon Vanilla in a Large Bowl.

STEP 3: Stir in Flour and Salt

STEP 4: Stir in Nuts

STEP 5: Shape Into 1 Inch Balls. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

STEP 6: Bake 9 to 10 Minutes or until slightly golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Slightly let them cool.

STEP 7: Roll warm cookies into the bowl of Powdered Sugar; cool on wire rack. Roll in Powdered Sugar Again.
